I wanted to take a moment and apologize for my lack of online presence. My life has done almost a complete 180 in the last few months.
Almost 3 months ago I made the decision to quit my job and accept a position at another educational institution in the area. While my title from one job to the next didn’t change, the jobs are completely different. I spent the majority of my time at my old job traveling. I would say probably 70% of my time was spent on the road. In 2011, between September and November I visited 31 states: Washington to Florida, Maine to California. I racked up over 100,000 hotel reward points at just one hotel chain. At the new job, I will be traveling less than 1%. At my old job I also worked directly with High School Seniors planning on attending college for the first time. Now I work with older, more mature, Graduate Students. My old school was a liberal arts university with degrees in everything from business to biology. My new institution only offers complementary and integrative health and wellness degrees. My former organization was very strict, professional, and conservative; my new organization is transformative, organic, and very open. The difference in lifestyle, workload, and stress levels is unreal.
In addition to my new job, my boyfriend (known as army boy) also got a new job 4 weeks after I did. Both of us had been struggling for some time in our current situations and had been praying and hoping for a change. He has been there less than 90 days and has already been given a raise. I am so happy for and proud of him.
It’s like living a different life. I am so grateful for the experience, the skills, and the knowledge that I learned at my old job and was very sad to go in part. However, I have nothing but high hopes for my new job and this organization. I am so grateful to be so blessed as I am now and I wanted to share that with each of you. I know that sometimes life, health, and love can bring us down and make us feel like we are lost to the world. It’s important to share with others our stories to help give others hope and encouragement. If you are facing a tough time now, just wait you have no idea how great it can get!
Today I will have my first official acupuncture treatment. I have been looking forward to this for a long and I am very excited. I have recently been thrust into the world of complementary and alternative therapies and I have heard some amazing success stories. Studies have show acupuncture can improve over all wellness, help lose weight, correct hormone imbalances, increase blood flow to organs, relieve allergies, reduce pain, the list goes on and on. With all the convincing research, it seems silly not to give it a try!
